Route 66 is a memorable part of my early childhood life. Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and living in West Los Angeles later, both cities were situated on US 66. I had spent many days traveling on 66 and recall that route following the Santa Fe railroad for great distances. Now, there are small portions of that highway in existence, but the Transcontinental Highway System made that part of my travel experience just a memory.
